Don't let winter ruin your chance of showing off beautiful locks
Urvi has rebranded, which means we have everything you'll need to rebrand your haircare routine this Winter.
Why do I keep mentioning Winter?
We all know that wet weather, a drop in temperature, and winds can get pretty intense, but how do these affect the health of your hair?
As you've probably heard or read before, the health of your hair comes from within and the quality of the environment on your scalp. You can take all the supplements you want, but if there isn't any love going to the roots and strands of your hair to protect against your environment, you may feel like achieving lustrous, strong hair is a never-ending uphill battle.
When your hair is wet, the hydrogen bonds in the hair strand break, making it weak and prone to breakage. The wet environment also causes dampness and encourages mould, bacteria and fungal growth on the scalp. This causes conditions like dandruff (a yeast-like fungus) and scalp acne to become exacerbated, and general irritation to increase from all the nasties overgrowing.
The drop in temperature and wind outside is not the only thing contributing to moisture loss; the big warm hug from indoor heating will also dehydrate your hair and scalp, causing breakage, hair loss and frizziness.
Now, I hate to say it, but seasonal shedding is something we also can not prevent. The shorter days mean less sunlight, so for some of us, winter's gift of seasonal shedding. So, along with the lack of serotonin boost, we also have the winter blues because of some unexpected hair loss from the only place we want to keep it (I'm sure we'd all appreciate a season of being hairless from the neck down).
Okay, okay! Enough with the Sarcasm and Doom & Gloom! Let us get to the exciting positive part of this post now. So, new products, new regime, another season of Self-Love rituals to reward yourself for the hard work in your day-to-day life.
In the table below, I have collated the information you need to understand how to organise a routine to help you reach/maintain your goals this winter. It captures all the information from the product pages into an easy-to-follow layout with links to the product pages already attached to the names of the products in the table.
With that said, I hope you all feel you have the information and now, also products, to add to your arsenal and protect your hair with the change of weather coming our way.
